Abstract

Entering March 2018, the price of basic goods / services in Banten generally increases. This is evident from the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 139.12 in February to 139.66 in March or an index change (inflation) of 0.39 percent.
All expenditure groups experienced an increase in index, ie respectively: the health group which rose by 1.23 percent; the transport, communication and financial services group increased by 0.71 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose by 0.47 percent; foodstuffs rose by 0.34 percent; clothing group that rose by 0.18 percent and finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.09 percent and education, recreation and sports group rose by 0.01 percent;
Dominant commodities contributing to inflation in March are red onions, red peppers, garlic, security costs and gasoline.
The calendar year inflation rate was recorded at 0.86 percent, while the inflation "Year on Year" (CPI March 2018 to March 2017) was 3.55 percent
