Development of Consumer Price Index of Banten Province in October 2024

Abstract

In October 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Banten Province of 1.94 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.61. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 2.37 percent with a CPI of 106.36.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 1.68 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.52 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.20 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 2.53 percent; health group by 1.58 percent; transportation group by 0.08 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.32 percent; education group by 1.63 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 4.96 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.97 percent. Meanwhile, one group experienced deflation, namely the information, communication and financial services group by 0.21 percent.
Banten Province's month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate in October 2024 was 0.14 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.93 percent.
