Level of Population Expenditure Inequality in Banten Province, March 2024

Abstract

In March 2024, the level of expenditure inequality among the population of Banten Province as measured by the Gini Ratio will be 0.353. This figure decreased by 0.015 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.357, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.372.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.254, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.256.

Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure among the bottom 40 percent is 19.41 percent. This means that population expenditure in March 2024 will be in the low inequality level category. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 19.05 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 24.53 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality.
