Level of Population Expenditure Inequality in Banten Province, September 2024

Abstract

in September 2024, the level of inequality in Banten Province's population expenditure as measured using the Gini Ratio was 0.359. This figure increased by 0.006 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.353 and decreased by 0.009 points compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.368.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.361; up compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.357 and down compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.372.
The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.246; down compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.254 and the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.256.
Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent of the population is 19.28 percent. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 19.00 percent. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure is recorded at 24.93 percent.
